WONDERING ABOUT IDENTITY

CARES NOVES is a socio-educational artistic project born from the design of adopting parts of the faces and personalities of other people, of wanting what we don’t have and exploring self-image, self-esteem and identity, which we often struggle with. with a society that leaves it monolithic. .

The artist and artistic mediator Petra Vlasman has been deploying it since 2012 and up to the present day with children, young people and people from various groups, origins and experiences who give it meaning every time we do.

A PRECURSOR PROJECT FOR SOCIAL NETWORK FILTERS, WHICH ALLOW US TO BE WHO WE WANT TO BE

This is a precursor project to social media filters, that allow us to be who we want to be, if that is possible in a society that conditions us with aesthetic limits.

In this case, the analog filters are for playing to be who we want to be without ceasing to be us. We have many faces to discover.

The last workshop accompanied by an exhibition was in May 2022 at TALLER131 in Barcelona. Where we made strange compositions. Masks of who we want or who we don’t want to be. Layers similar to what we already are, at least apparently?

In the photos we see people who have taken over the characteristics they had always wanted. They have become, even if only in the virtual world, the dreamed individual.
